RentDera is a rent-management app for landlords and property managers. It replaces the notebook, the monthly mental math and the reminder you keep forgetting to send — with one app on your phone.

What RentDera does

Properties, units and tenants
Set up a house, building or plot of land, then add every rentable unit inside it — room, flat, shop or parking. Assign a tenant to a unit with their rent, the day it falls due each month, and the deposit you're holding.
Dues that generate themselves
Every occupied unit gets its due each billing cycle without you creating it. Each one reads Pending, Partially paid, Paid or Overdue, so you can see who still owes you without doing the sums.
Full and partial payments
Record what was actually paid — cash, eSewa, Khalti, bank transfer or cheque — with a date and a note. Half now and half later is fine: the balance carries, and stays visible.
Receipts and reminders
Produce a PDF receipt for a due, or a pre-written reminder with the amount and the date, and send either straight to your tenant over WhatsApp or SMS from your phone's share sheet.
Electricity and water by the meter
Enter the previous reading, the current reading and your rate per unit. RentDera works out the units used and adds the charge to that month's due — no arithmetic, no argument at the door.
Custom and recurring charges
Waste, parking, a one-off repair, a discount, an advance. Add a charge to a single due, or set one to recur every month alongside the rent.
A dashboard, not a spreadsheet
Expected, collected, outstanding and occupancy for the month — on the first screen you see when you open the app.
Nepali dates, Nepali language
Bikram Sambat months are shown alongside Gregorian dates, and the whole app runs in नेपाली as well as English.
Your currency
Track rent in NPR, INR, USD, GBP, EUR, AED, QAR, AUD or CAD, formatted properly for the currency rather than as a bare code.
RentDera never touches the money
Rent is paid the way you and your tenant already agree — cash, bank transfer, eSewa, Khalti. RentDera records that the payment happened and produces the receipt. It is a ledger and a record-keeping tool: it does not process, hold or transfer funds, and it is not a party to your lease. See the Terms of Service.
How a month works

Add a property, then its units
Units, tenants and dues all live under a property. Start with the building, then add each rentable unit and the rent you charge for it.

Assign a tenant
Their name and phone number, the lease start date, the day rent falls due each month, and the deposit you've taken. Tenants don't install anything or create an account.

The month's due appears on its own
Rent, plus any meter readings you enter and any charges you've set up — assembled for you, not typed out again.

Record the payment, share the receipt
Mark it paid in full or in part, then send the receipt or a reminder over WhatsApp or SMS.
Built for landlords with a handful of units — not a hundred
A house in Baneshwor, a building in Pokhara, a few rooms with a shop underneath. RentDera is for the owner or property manager doing this themselves, on an Android phone, between everything else.
Tenants don't need an account, a password or an app. You enter their details, and what they get is a receipt or a reminder on WhatsApp or SMS — the way they already hear from you.
And for the ones who aren't in Nepal
Plenty of Nepali landlords are in the US, the UK, the Gulf, India, Australia or Canada while the property is back home. RentDera runs in your currency, so the amounts read the way you think about them.
Bikram Sambat months sit alongside Gregorian dates throughout, and the interface switches between English and नेपाली — so what you're looking at still matches the month your tenant is talking about.
Getting the app
RentDera is an Android app. It's in closed testing while we finish the first public release, so it isn't listed on Google Play yet — when it is, the link will be on this page. There is no iOS version.
You sign in with your email address or with your Google account. Accounts are for landlords and property managers; tenants don't log in.
RentDera is built in Kathmandu by Notils, which also runs the sign-in, storage and support behind it.
